Event, Start & Details of the 32nd Riders Rally 2005


Date: from 29th July to 1st August

Start Opening Times:
Friday: 3pm to 8pm
Saturday: 8am to 12 noon.

MCI Permit: 05/165 Touring

Event Type: A Tour-raid - 650-mile (1,000-kilometre) point-to-point motorcycle navigation touring rally. All the roads used are public roads and are therefore subject to Road Traffic Act. The Rally is not a race nor a timed competition.

The Riders Rally is far from a commercial tourist business and offers no special insurances to the participants. Even though the team organises the trip, the team is not responsible for the participants' action. All riders operate with their own risk and must take care of their personal property and themselves.

Awards, badges, souvenirs presented on Sunday evening at the final destination

Starting Place: Gerry Stephen's motorcycle museum 1.5 miles from Ballymore Eustace. Collect direction flyers from Ballymore Inn and the route maybe "arrowed" from the village on the Naas Rd R411.

Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare is 25 miles (40 kilometres) south-west of Dublin by either: 1) the M7, Exit Naas and take the R411 to Ballymore Eustace; 2) N81 Dublin - Baltinglass road - take signposted right turn 1 mile south of Blessington.

In Ballymore Eustace locate the Ballymore Inn, collect the directions or follow the signs to the Start. Camping on Friday night is at the 2nd Point, 80 miles away. There is no camping at the Start.

The Riders Rally is a point-to-point touring rally with 3 sequential overnight camping halts included in the entry fee. Entry Fee: Rider - €40, Pillion - €30, Children under 12 FREE. Every entrant receives at the Start a souvenir Riders Rally 2005 baseball-style cap, other benefits include: Road Direction Cards; Badges; 3 nights' Free Camping; 3 Evenings of Fun; Souvenirs; Awards - Largest Club, Oldest Motorcycle, Smallest Motorcycle, Youngest Driver, Long Distance, Special Award, Eamonn Waldron Memorial Trophy.
